In 1971, consistent with the dominance of pneumatic blasting within its product line, Progressive Engineering Company of Holland, Michigan changed its name to Progressive Blasting Systems. 1972 was the year that a pneumatic blasting product from Progressive Blasting Systems was offered for the first time specifically for the process of shot peening. Progressive Blasting Systems moved its headquarters from Holland to its current location in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1979 and has since expanded to four buildings. 1983 saw another expansion of the Progressive product line and a new division, Progressive Coating Systems, with the manufacture of their first automated thermal spray system. In 1988 both divisions, Progressive Blasting Systems and Progressive Coatings Systems, were combined simply to Progressive Technologies, Inc. of Grand Rapids, Michigan. 1991 was the year that the company's product line expanded, once again, to include robotic waterjet coating removal systems. Today, the company continues to exist as Progressive Technologies, Inc. specializing in the processes of pneumatic grit blast, shot peen, thermal spray coatings, and ultra-high pressure waterjet coating removal systems and services. |
